By land and by sea I traveled 5,500 miles from Sitka, Alaska to catch
up with my family in SW Florida. Below are links to see pictures and comments from
each leg of the trip. I got home on Thursday, June 26th. That was a day earlier than
my wife was expecting me. Raquel waited patiently for over 4 months for me to join
her. She got the kids set up in school, our family set up with a place to live and
herself with a job. Once again she has shown the strength and determination that
I found so amazing when I met her four years ago. I know the long days of driving
were nothing compared to the long weeks of hard work and waiting that she endured
these past 4 months. Her strength and her faith in me has kept me going all this
time. This journey was many things. In less than 3 weeks I've retraced my childhood, my college years and reconnected with old friends and family. I've learned a lot about my family. I've seen nieces and nephews and children of old friends grow into adults. The miles and miles gave me time to ponder everything that ever has or ever might happen in my life. It has helped me realize that I am a very lucky man. Thank you for visiting my website. |
